Why cellulite does not disappear even when you are doing everything right

Accent Prime cellulite treatment on buttocks

Cellulite affects more than 80% of women after puberty, regardless of weight or physical activity level. If you have already tried diet, exercise or creams and still see the same dimples, it is not a lack of effort: it is because the problem is not located where those measures act.

Cellulite is an alteration of the subcutaneous tissue: fat cells enlarge, connective tissue becomes more rigid and fibrous bands pull the skin inward, creating the uneven texture commonly known as orange-peel skin. It appears mainly on the thighs, buttocks, hips and abdomen. For it to improve, treatment needs to act directly on that tissue from within — not only on the surface.

Why many popular cellulite treatments do not give real results

If you have already tried pressotherapy, lymphatic drainage, ultrasonic cavitation, cryolipolysis or muscle electrostimulation and did not see meaningful changes, there is a reason: those technologies do not act on the real mechanism behind cellulite.

We do not use any of these technologies as our cellulite treatment approach. Part of the initial assessment is understanding what you have tried before and why it did not work for you.

How we treat cellulite and why it works

We do not use one standard protocol for every type of cellulite. Before recommending any treatment, we evaluate what is happening in your tissue specifically: whether fibrosis, fluid retention, laxity or poor skin quality is predominant. That determines which technology makes sense and whether a combination is needed.

The main device we use is Accent Prime, which combines radiofrequency and focused ultrasound. Radiofrequency generates controlled heat at depth, stimulating collagen and acting on the rigidity of fibrous bands. Ultrasound acts on the altered adipose tissue. Together, they allow us to address several components of cellulite in the same session — something most technologies cannot do.

If your cellulite is associated with marked laxity or poor skin quality, we may add biostimulators such as Sculptra or body Radiesse to rebuild dermal structure from within.

When there are highly localized fibrotic areas and rigid tissue that does not soften, body PBSerum with medical enzymes may be used to work specifically on those zones.

What type of cellulite do you have, and why does it matter before starting?

Cellulite is not a single condition. Different types can coexist in different areas of the same person, and each one responds better to a different approach. That is why the initial assessment is not a formality: it is what determines whether your treatment can produce a real result.

What an Accent Prime session is like

The device handpiece is applied to the area with controlled movements. The sensation is progressive heat, usually well tolerated. You do not need anesthesia and there is no downtime. A session lasts between 30 and 60 minutes depending on the areas treated. You can return to your routine the same day.

How many sessions will you need?

For moderate cellulite, we usually work with cycles of 4 to 8 sessions, once a week or every 10 days. Results are progressive: your skin starts improving during the cycle and continues to improve in the following weeks as collagen reorganizes. The maximum effect is usually seen around 2-3 months after completing the cycle.

If you have severe fibrotic cellulite, the process is slower and may require more sessions or a combination of technologies. The exact number is defined during the assessment and adjusted according to how your tissue responds.

What results can you expect?

Cellulite does not have a definitive cure, but it can improve significantly with the right treatment for your type of tissue. With a well-indicated cycle, you can expect:

Results are not permanent if there are major weight changes or hormonal variations. Periodic maintenance helps prolong what you achieved.
