El Facial Botox is used to temporarily relax the muscles that create forehead lines, frown lines and crow’s feet when we make facial expressions. When appropriately indicated, it can make the face look more rested without eliminating movement.
The dose and injection points are planned around the way you raise your eyebrows, frown and smile. There is no fixed formula: the goal is to soften the lines that bother you and help keep them from becoming deeper while preserving your facial identity.
If your concern is not related to expression lines, it may make more sense to review specific indications such as bruxism, excessive sweating, gummy smile o masseters.

One of the most common mistakes I see in consultation is repeating Botox automatically every three months. Because the result is often very good, many patients want to keep the forehead completely smooth all year.
For many patients I prefer to space treatments further apart. The muscle also benefits from periods of activity: if it is continuously weakened for years, it can lose strength and change the way it supports the forehead.
That is why I do not prescribe Botox on the same fixed schedule for everyone. Frequency is decided according to muscle strength, facial expression, age, the previous result and each patient’s goal.
A completely immobile forehead may seem appealing at first because lines take longer to return, but it is not always the most elegant result or the best choice for natural facial expression.
I prefer to preserve some movement, especially in patients who raise their eyebrows a lot or rely on the forehead muscle to keep the eye area from looking heavy.
I always give my medical recommendation before treatment. We then discuss how much softening the patient wants, but my approach is to avoid rigid results that may compromise natural facial expression over time.
For me, natural-looking Botox does not mean a frozen face. It means softening expression lines and improving the overall appearance while allowing the patient to still recognize herself when she talks, smiles or raises her eyebrows.
The goal is not to erase every expression, but to reduce the movements that crease the skin too strongly. That is why injection points and dose are adapted to each face.
A good result should look like a fresher, more rested expression—not a rigid or artificial forehead.
Botox effects usually begin to appear within 2 to 7 days after treatment, with the result settling around two weeks. The effect usually lasts 3 to 5 months, depending on individual factors such as metabolism, the treated area and treatment frequency.

“Dr. Agustina is incredibly warm and really listens to what you need. I had Botox and lip filler. Finding Dr. Álvarez was a turning point for me. They explained that injectables are not surgery: they require a detailed understanding of facial expression and real clinical experience.”
— Agustina G.“Sometimes you think Botox is simple until it is done badly. That happened to me. My eyebrows looked strange and my expression was frozen…”
— Cecilia B.“I went to Dr. Álvarez after having bad experiences with Botox elsewhere. They explained that surgery and injecting are different skills, and I understood the difference immediately. The experience here is obvious: they focus on non-surgical treatments and know how to achieve natural-looking results. I left delighted—my expression was intact but looked much more rested. I recommend her without hesitation.”
— An V.“I spent years trying different places for my skin. Here I found real results. My Botox was done very precisely and subtly, without losing my expression.”
