Ask on WhatsAppScars are not all treated with the same technology. Depth, color, age, location and skin response influence what can be improved and how gradual the process may be.
The right option depends on what predominates in the concern, the skin or tissue quality, and the patient's expectations.
Some scars soften with time; others remain visible because of texture, pigment or depth. The goal is usually improvement, not making the skin as if nothing ever happened.
Improvement is usually progressive and depends on scar type. The aim is smoother texture, less visible contrast and better skin quality.
Improvement in texture, depth and color is achievable in most types of scars with the right approach. Atrophic acne scars often respond well to CO2 or Erbium laser over multiple sessions. Complete disappearance is rarely possible, but significant visible improvement usually is.
Some scars stabilize once healing is complete; others change with age, sun exposure or hormonal shifts. Atrophic scars — particularly acne scars — tend to become more visible as the surrounding skin loses collagen. Keloids can continue to grow if not managed.
